Violin lessons are a valuable activity that teach children healthy problem solving skills, cooperation, and an appreciation for the arts. Miss Morgan uses principles from her background in Neuroscience, the Suzuki method, and her own professional experience to develop an engaging, sequential, and organized approach for learning violin and viola skills. Through the path of devoted encouragement and careful repetition her students are ensured mastery of the violin. Morgan believes that all of her students will not only grow into talented musicians but will be the bright, thoughtful leaders of our next generation.

Suzuki Method for Preschoolers

These lessons are designed for the youngest beginner students (ages 3-7 years old). The program starts with learning by ear while emphasizing positive reinforcement and kinestetic learning. There is an emphasis on building a triangle of learning and communication between the teacher, the student, and the parent to develop strong performance skills at a young age. Saturday mornings we have Group Class, where young violinists and their parents play music together, reinforcing their skills.

Violin Lessons & Viola Lessons

My approach combines my skills as a string player with my BA in Neuroscience, providing me with a deep understanding of how we learn the violin both physically and musically. For older, perhaps experienced students, I use a traditional approach to teaching infused with strong foundation in technique from my studies and Suzuki training. In addition to classical repertoire, my students learn American and international folk music inspired for the fiddle.
